As soon as you take your vehicle off paved roads – be it on gravel tracks, forest roads, sand, mud, or snow – the risk of getting stuck, bottoming out, or damaging the underbody increases significantly. Off-road accessories prepare you precisely for these situations: recovery equipment enables self-recovery without external help, protective components such as underbody protection and rock sliders save your vehicle from expensive damage, and transport solutions ensure that your gear is carried safely and neatly.

To get started, we recommend a basic kit consisting of a recovery strap, two soft shackles, a sturdy shovel, and a pair of recovery boards. With these, you'll be prepared for most standard situations (getting stuck in sand, mud, or snow). Those who regularly go on challenging tours should also add a snatch block, tree strap, and a kinetic rope – ideally as a complete recovery kit. If you want to actively protect your vehicle from damage, also invest in underbody protection and rock sliders.

Yes – even those who only occasionally travel on dirt roads, during ski holidays, or when camping benefit from basic equipment. A small recovery kit in the trunk can make all the difference when tires are stuck in snow or mud. Waterproof duffel bags and Quick Fist mounts are also practical for any traveler, even without ambitious off-road plans. Only with more frequent off-road trips do more extensive investments, such as underbody protection or a winch, become worthwhile.

After each use, clean soft shackles, ropes, and straps with clear water to remove sand, mud, and salt, and allow them to dry completely before storing them again. Check protective covers, seams, and wear points for damage before and after each recovery – plastic materials can age even if they appear externally intact. Store everything dry, protected from light, and not in a permanently hot vehicle interior. Occasionally check metal parts such as shackles and winches for corrosion and minor wear.
