The bottom line is that the round tube means that the additional wind noise is minimal and doesn't bother you. From 120-140 km\/h the wind noise on roof racks becomes noticeably louder. In exceptional cases, a louder wind noise or a roar can occur; the reason is often tension in the carrier, as the vehicle and the carrier have tolerances in production. In these cases it usually helps to loosen the carrier again and build it up without tension.
